A tribute to my grandmother
MÉMOIRE began with the story of my grandmother, who used to sing flamenco on the buses of Liège. Her story became the starting point for an exploration of how identity is shaped through layers of memory, culture, and displacement.
The project started in November 2022 with this series of self-portraits taken in Liège, the city where she was born and raised. For these photographs, I wore a traditional flamenco dress as a symbolic gesture—a tribute to her story and a way of connecting my own body with her memory.
