I grew up in a house where photographs hung from strings to dry, freshly developed from the darkroom. Before I understood what an image was, I learned that it could slowly appear, transform through light, and become a memory. Perhaps that is why I still understand creation as a process of revelation.

My perspective has been shaped by encounters between cultures. The diversity of landscapes, cultures, and ways of life I have experienced has transformed my relationship with colour. Rather than seeking what separates us, I am interested in discovering what connects us. When I arrive in a new place, I do not photograph immediately. I need to walk, listen, and observe before taking a photograph. This same rhythm guides my entire creative process. Research occupies an essential place in my practice. I gather images, archives, materials, and stories that gradually reveal unexpected connections.

I work in an interdisciplinary way, exploring the possibilities of painting, photography, and other media. Colour holds a central place in my practice: it is a language capable of creating connections between people, cultures, and histories. My work invites the viewer to discover those links that remain invisible at first glance. What emerges when we learn to look differently?

A little bit more about me

Born in the Netherlands, Mediterranean by choice, and a nomad at heart.

A passionate traveller, I have also lived in England, Brazil, Italy, Morocco, Uganda, and for the past decades in Spain. Each place has shaped the way I see the world and continues to influence my artistic practice.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Maastricht, specialising in Fashion and Textile Design, and a Master’s degree in Graphic Arts from the University of Valencia.

Throughout my career, I have worked across photography, textiles, painting, and graphic design, always searching for a visual language that could bring these disciplines together. Today, my multidisciplinary practice combines archives, photography, painting, collage, and textiles to explore memory, identity, movement, and cultural exchange.

I speak Dutch, Spanish, English, French, and German, and I am currently learning Arabic.
