Description
From Liège to Andalusia III was the first bigger work I painted for Mémoire, and the moment when I discovered that painting could become a way of expressing this project.
The work emerges from a journey through places, memories and personal connections. Liège and Andalusia represent two different territories, but also two points within a broader story shaped by movement, encounters and a sense of belonging. Layers of paint, gestures, lines and dots appear as fragments that overlap, intersect and leave traces, much like memory itself.
Colour and matter create a space between the lived and the imagined, where different times and places can coexist. This work opened the path to Mémoire: a process in which painting became a way of exploring my own connections and giving form to what remains.
